Graphic Liner Look- My Fave Products!

Hi All! Slightly different post today. I’m going to be talking about some of the products I used to create this graphic liner look. This is one of my fave looks because the products really helped it come together and they are all affordable.

For the eyeshadow, I used the Huda Beauty Ruby Obsessions Palette. I’ve actually had this for a while but haven’t used it as I felt it would only create one type of look. After having a little play I actually think you could create both subtle and dramatic looks! There is honestly no fallout, which is perfect because the pigment is intense! In true Huda Beauty nature, the colours blend beautifully and the eye look only took about 10 mins (half the time it took me to perfect the liner of course). I cannot recommend this enough. For a high end palette it’s really affordable at £25 and there are lots of other colour ranges. LJL Rating: 10/10

Next up, the eyeliner! I used Nyx’s Epic Ink Liner. This is a cult product and if you haven’t already tried it you should! I love how black and shiny it is, and when it dries down there is no creasing, fading or smudging- what more could a girl want!? It’s so easy to use and quite easy to correct (and I did….over and over) because it doesn’t dry instantly. This is only £9 and lasts months so it’s well worth the money. LJL Rating: 10/10

Finally, I want to talk about the base! For my foundation I used B. Cosmetics Flawless Silk Foundation! This is perfect if you want a foundation that does crack or dry out. It has a really lovely glowy finish and has a medium to full coverage. It blends like an absoute dream and I think it looks so pretty on the skin. The only downside is that it is a little oily so it does easily wipe off if you touch it and putting setting powder on to prevent this can make it look slightly dull. This is only £5 so it’s well worth a try! LJL Rating: 9/10

The Most Versatile Palette!

I just have to write about the Morphe 35B palette! Lockdown has given me lots of time to play around with colours and styles I wouldn’t usually go for and I have found that this palette has the biggest range of looks!

This palette allows for real creativity with the range of colours and although it looks a little bright which might scare some people, you can actually create some neutral looks too! It’s so versatile that I actually use the pinks for blush too!

As for the actual shadows, the pigment is just perfect. The colour once applied really matches what you see in the palette. There is a bit of fallout when you pick the product on the brush but once it’s applied there is no fallout onto the skin which is perfect. The shimmers aren’t the most creamy and so it’s best to apply with your finger and don’t expect anything too glittery but I think that’s okay because the palette is already enough on it’s own to create some stand out looks!

I really do recommend this palette for anyone looking to branch out into more creative looks because it’s so easy to use and there are so many tutorials online for 35b looks. I also think the price point is great as £24 for 35 colours is such a bargain especially when there are an endless amount of looks to create.

The Natural Lip Look

Why hello! Today I thought it’s worth talking about how I’m really enjoying a natural lip look lately. So usually I’m the lip liner and stand out matte colour girl but I don’t always have time for this and it’s never guaranteed to last all day. Instead I have opted for a really natural lip look lately, which I have also noticed tends to make your eye makeup pop a little more!

My absolute FAVE is the INCREDIBLE Rollerbaby Gloss (£6). I have to admit I have all the colours but to be honest they all look the same when applied. They have the most smooth and shiny finish. They’re basically a gloss that ISN’T STICKY! That’s right, no need to pull your hair off your face every time there’s a breeze! More importantly they are so moisturising that I wear them indoors too. They also apply really well over lipstick for a glossy finish- Win win right!

For a natural look with a but if colour, I really enjoy Burt’s Bees Rose Tinted Lip Balm (£6). This colour seems to match every makeup look in the book! It also is compatible with a huge range of skin tones. This gives a long lasting Satin finish without drying your lips out. The colour builds up really well if you’re not quite ready to ditch the lipstick!

Finally, Lottie London Gloss’d Lip Gloss in shade ‘Iced’ (£5). Firstly it’s gotta be said that this packaging is adorable! I really do rate this lip gloss for a number of reasons. Despite being a classic gloss it really isn’t sticky. It also lasts AGES… yes even after eating! Speaking of eating it smells divine! Like Vanilla cupcakes…can you tell I’m hungry. In all honestly it’s just a great go to gloss and looks really pretty over a nude lipstick (which I’m wearing in the pic with a tad of rollerbaby). If you aren’t a gloss person I would recommend trying this one.

Hopefully I have shown you all the path to beautiful natural lips! See my insta for recent looks with these glosses and feel free to DM me any questions or recommendations!

The Foundation That Makes You GLOW!

I have a new fave foundation! NYX Born to Glow Foundation has honestly shocked me with how much I love it!

I’ve always assumed a perfect foundation doesn’t exist as I have tried more than a few but I really have no qualms here.

The formula is so creamy but lightweight. Although it has a high coverage it had a satin finish on the skin. The formula makes it really blendable so if you did want to go for a more natural look you could easily buff out a small amount.

This is the ONLY foundation I would ever wear along as it really does make you glow, and it has a way of highlighting all the high points of your face creating a naturally contoured look. That’s right! You can ditch the bronzer and highlighter with this gem!

The price point is equally as good at only £10, and Look Fantastic often have 15% off on this. If you wonder what it looks like go to my insta @lucia_jayne as I have fully committed to this product for the last two months!

Maybelline Superstay Lip Crayons

This lippy is the perfect high end dupe. Let’a start with the formula. It is so creamy which is rare for a lip crayon, and gives a smooth matte finish without drying out the lips.

My favourite thing about this is actually the application. Being a crayon, it doubles as a lip liner so there is no need to worry about any mess. The creaminess of the product makes it so fast to apply as it glides on and gives full coverage in one stroke. Conveniently, there is also a little sharpener at the end of the pen to keep the tip sharp.

The only reason why I didn’t give a 10 is a small issue for me… the colours of the packaging don’t really match the colour of the lipstick, so if you’re buying online it’s hard to know how the colour will turn out. Overall though, worth trying as I think £10 for a high end quality is a bargain, especially as the ease of use is great.

My personal recommendation would be shade Lead The Way as it matches nearly every style of look!

Overhyped? Testing Essence Mascara

Hi all!

I’m sure many of you have seen various blogs and vlogs circulating for a while of hype over the extremely cheap Essence Princess mascaras.

There are various versions of this-lengthening, volumizing, etc. I tried the Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. I bought this from Wilko for £3 however you can buy this online for a tad more.

Now for the verdict! I have to be totally honest I love this mascara! It’s the perfect balance of giving length and a tiny bit of volume. It can make lashes stick together if you do too many coats, but for the price this is a fab buy! I would deffo recommend!

Dry Skin Saviours

Today I thought I’d share my beauty routine when it comes to my skin. I’ve noticed a lot of beauty bloggers have normal to oily skin, and there’s not much advice out there for us dry skin people. I keep my routine very simple as my skin reacts badly to anything harsh, So if you’re looking for budget friendly beauty, keep on reading! My everyday all time fave is Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Day Cream for £5.99. This gives me instant hydration and makes my skin look so glowy and healthy! In this range I have also tried the Naturally Radiant Overnight Mask which gives such a glow!                              LJL Rating: 10/10For deep hydration I use The Body Shop’s Intense Vitamin E Face Cream for £14. ALthough this costs a little extra, it really does provide slightly more hydration. If you prefer a light moisturiser I’d suggest the naturally radiant cream, but if you have very dry skin, then this is perfect. I use this when my face is super flaky and dry.                                                                                      LJL Rating: 9/10For healthy and plump skin I use It’s Skin Power VE Serum for  £15.50. I add this to my moisturiser, or apply it on it’s own and it even outs my skin really well. Also worth noting how cute the bottle is! To wake up glowing I mix this with Avene Hydrance Optimal Rich which has such an impact.                                                                                                                          LJL Rating:  8/10For instant hydration on the go, I use B. Hydrated Hyaluronic Acid Spritz for £8.50. I use this first thing in the morning (partly to wake me up!) and it really refreshes the skin. I’ve been using this for a month and it’s made such a difference already!                                                      LJL Rating: 8/10
